This is a beautiful example of Yamaha’s sought-after early FG series, made at the famous Nippon Gakki factory in Hamamatsu, Japan, circa 1972–1974. The FG-160 is renowned for its rich, balanced tone and rock-solid build — guitars from this period have become highly collectible due to their craftsmanship and tonal quality.

  • Model: FG-160

  • Origin: Nippon Gakki Co. Ltd., Japan

  • Era: Early 1970s (light brown Nippon Gakki label with fan corners)

  • Condition: Good vintage condition – a few small cosmetic scratches, but no cracks, breaks, or structural issues. Plays cleanly with plenty of life left.

  • Features: Classic dreadnought body, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood fingerboard.

These early Japanese-built Yamaha FG guitars are celebrated for their warm projection and durability, making them a fantastic choice for both players and collectors.

A wonderful chance to own a genuine Nippon Gakki-era Yamaha with that classic vintage acoustic voice.
