Fender Japan TC-72 Telecaster Custom Reissue 1993–94 – Crafted in Japan – Fujigen Era
Fender Japan TC-72 Telecaster Custom Reissue 1993–94 – Crafted in Japan – Fujigen Era
Up for sale is a genuine Fender Japan TC-72 Telecaster Custom Reissue, serial number P082559, placing it squarely in the 1993–1994 production period at the famed Fujigen factory.
This model is a faithful reissue of the 1972 Fender Telecaster Custom, made famous by players like Keith Richards. It features:
-
Wide Range Humbucker in the neck position
-
Single-coil bridge pickup
-
Les Paul-style 4-knob layout with 3-way toggle
-
“F” stamped neck plate (correct for this model)
-
Maple neck with rosewood fretboard
-
Gloss black finish
The guitar is in excellent condition, showing only light wear consistent with careful use. It plays and sounds fantastic — that perfect blend of bite and warmth that Tele Custom fans love.
Note on Neck Stamp:
This guitar is stamped “Crafted in Japan”, despite having a “P” serial number (typical of 1993–94 Fujigen production). This was a known transitional overlap in Fender Japan history as production began shifting from Fujigen to Dyna Gakki.
These rare transitional pieces are completely legitimate and collectible, and this one appears to be a true early example of that changeover. The neck plate with the “F” logo and build features confirm its authenticity as a TC-72 Custom Reissue.
